John DeWeese was an eighteen-year-old Marine who was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb. He was a Humvee driver and he was part of a platoon that was training Iraqi police officers. In Iraq, a roadside bomb blew the Humvee to pieces and killed him. The Humvee is a light, four-wheel drive military vehicle. It is equipped with waterproof electronics.

He was also awarded the Noncommissioned Officer of the Year award. His dedication and sacrifice earned him the titles of Most Valuable Serviceman and Best Noncommissioned Officer in the War. He will be missed by his fellow soldiers, as well as by his family.
